I'm thinking that young boys are more curious about their bodies and how they compare to those their friends, rather than actually being attracted to them. This whole argument came up between my friend and I when I posted this photo on facebook. You can't ignore the people who disagree and pretend it makes you right.

Ah, there you have it. That makes much more sense to me. I kissed girls when I was young and drunk. Not much different than kissing a guy, but I was never interested in checking out the plumbing.

It arguably says something about male homosexual acts, but it's not entirely clear. The bible says nothing about lesbianism whatsoever. Thank you for the correction. I presume you mean Romans 1:18-32. If not, please provide the passage you have in mind. This passage says that God gave them over to unnatural passions as punishment for their rebellion against God. (There's that pairing of unnatural relations and infidelity and forsaking God again.) I don't know Greek, but what I can glean from the interlinear bible is that it mentions the women exchanging unnatural relations for natural and the males were punished as befit their crime. Again, I don't have the linguistic skills, but it doesn't seem to indicate the women were punished for their unnatural relations. Six of one, half a dozen of another. Anyway, thanks for the reference. Admittedly, it does sound like lesbianism was equally punishable. Worthy of note, the Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance have this to say about the passage: "Other Christians interpret the passage differently. They note that the persons involved in the orgy were former Christians, and were heterosexual. They are condemned because they went against their nature — their heterosexual orientation — and engaged in same-gender sexual behavior. By the same reasoning, lesbians and gays who went against their fundamental nature — their homosexual orientation — and engaged in opposite-gender sexual behavior would also be sinning." I went a little further though and frequently kissed other guys; stopping short of any sexual contact. Not out of disgust or anything, it just didn't turn me on in any way. Mine was a decision of "Cocks are not very appealing, but man, I do love me some boobies." I asked a few gay friends if they thought I was in denial about being gay, and I was surprised by their agreed responses - They all basically said that I am a hedonist and had to explore every potential pleasure. Or, as one of my lesbian friends put it, "you're a greedy, sex hungry bastard." Shell, you can lift your jaw off the floor now.
Please, I would have been more surprised if you said you liked pudding.

I can only have serious relationships with women. I felt physical attraction to both sexes pretty much ever since I felt physical attraction of any kind (though I was in denial of this for many years), but I have only ever felt emotional attachment with women. I don't know why it is like that, but it has never bothered me very much.
Could just be that I never met the 'right' guy, though. (August 17, 2012 at 2:55 am)Shell B Wrote: Ah, there you have it. That makes much more sense to me. I kissed girls when I was young and drunk. But Shelly: that's the best part! * Violet might or might not be interested in checking out the plumbing. That makes me a plumber, right? I plunge out the holes, and sell I crack. Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day
I seem to be the exception in that I am not attracted at all to other men.
Girlies all he way for me. Maybe that is why I am so comfortable with gay people? You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis. |
