Where do atheists get their morality from?

I've been trying not to jump in here and pile on the assualt, but this statement is simply not true. You have been a condescending, arrogant jerk since the moment you got here.

And frankly when I am one, I can see where I am coming from and I find it totally understandable.

But you've been here. You know the general temperament of this forum. A little mean-spirited, some roughhousing. I never strayed far from that ethos.

Now if in the process I hurt someone's feelings, or someone couldn't handle what they were dishing out, that's a whole 'nother story. I can take care of that with a little huggin' and kissin'.

But don't blame the butthurt epidemic on me, we're all wheelin' and dealin' freely out here and I'm no different.

Vinny, you said you buggered the Holy Spirit. How did it feel like? Was he just a bit of wind?

Folks, if you don't want Vinny the one who buggered the Holy Ghost to continue trolling, just do what I do. Blaspheme the Holy Spirit in Vinny's name. He will stop trolling after a while. Fundies are afraid of the Holy Spirit especially Vinny whose lies have brought disgrace to the Holy Spirit's arse.

There's a lot of things you could have done to try and provoke me to blaspheme on your terms. But this is the most counter-productive of your choices. And you are going to wear yourself out long before you wear me out. You know that right?

Vinny who shoved the Holy Ghost up his arse has just spoken. Vinny, if the Holy Spirit is in you, how did he get there? Through your arse? I was wrong all along. It's the Holy Ghost that buggered you and not the other way round. Hey folks! Vinny got buggered by the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Holy Trinity!!!

Keep blaspheming in Vinny the Liar's name and we'll see him a-trolling no more.

Is this an AF first? A row between an atheist who identifies as a xtian and an embarrassingly obvious xtian convincing no-one but himself that he's an atheist?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Haha, all I want to do is to get rid of an irritating Christian troll who has the ruddy cheek to pretend to be an atheist. But it works. Vinny whom the Holy Ghost buggers regularly is no more here. THE TROLL HAS GONE. Thank God for the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, but it's keeping us entertained. Anyway, remember? You told us you're an atheist so this shouldn't offend you.

Anyway, Vinny I got a question. Did Jesus enjoy how your dick tasted? Did the holy spirit spit or swallow? And how tight is the father? I mean, how much lube did they use when they took their turn on you? Were they able to get all the way in or did they just get up to three quarters the way in before it was just too tight to go any further? Inquiring minds want to know!

Ho Ho Ho! It works. Vinny the guy whom the Holy Spirit buggers has gone away. It's very hard for a Christian troll to pretend to be an atheist. He's sure to be offended by blasphemy. But he asked for it. I wouldn't do it to someone who admits he's a Christian fundy. But Vinny tells us he's an atheist who thinks Christians make more sense. What utter rubbish. If this Christian troll comes back, remember - blasphemy is the best antidote against a troll. And we are not even being rude to the troll. We merely blasphemed. Blasphemy is an offence that has no victim. I think Dawkins said that.

Here is a longer summary and the opportunity to purchase the original research paper, "Western scrub-jay funerals: cacophonous aggregations in response to dead conspecifics". Go ahead, Atom, show us the part where it refers to the Jays eating maggots or flies during the events. Ignore all the other behaviour descriptions and analytic controls. Is that what you do?

Meanwhile, here is a an interesting paper, Evolution of Cooperation in Multiplex Networks, an example of the fact that given a basic level of reciprocal gameplay strategy, as observed in humans, a complex level of co-operation can emerge. Fancy that.

I see that there are still no takers on how a christian receives their godly commands and how this is reliably differentiable from corresponding notions in believers in other faiths. Perhaps this publicly available paper on some well-designed research will help: "Believers' estimates of God's beliefs are more egocentric than estimates of other people's beliefs".

They make it up as they go along and call it a message from god. That is why "objective morality" is dangerous.

All of the above titles provide links to the papers in question.
