I have been playing it for about 3 weeks now. I was playing TSW before that (more on that in some other post).
Yeah,I like it pretty well. Some of it is typical MMo grind, but I enjoy the crafting system (cooking discover is FUN!), and am also impressed that not only do the ladies get lots of long hair options, some of the hair actually move! ALOT! I'm totally in love with the flowy human hair style. I've never seen so much realistic hair movement in an MMO.
I'm a guardian on Henge of Denravi, in the guild GODS (IRONIC!) It's actually called Pyramid, but the guilds all get short monikers. I'm probably going to hit 80 this weekend, then maybe start a ranger alt!
If you can switch servers, I'd love to play with you. My husband is dead set on staying where we are, for WvW play reasons. he likes his PvP, and he likes to win, lol.
One thing that's weird is the lack of healer/tank/dps. Everyone is everything, for real. First MMO I have ever played that ditched classic aggro management, and makes instances totally organized chaos where you have to heal yourself, sometimes others, get agro, avoid agro. IT's just chaotic. It's hard for me (usually a dedicated healer, going back to EQ) to get used to . But it does make for interesting dungeon runs.

Because this is like totally an important feature in any game! (J/k, I love the hair! )

I play a ranger on Gunnar's Hold and lo and behold, my alt is a warrior (they're for once effective and fun to play!). Our guild is a small family guild (me, my dad, my uncle and my cousin) and a few of dad's coworkers, who used to be rabid WoW players. One of the most hated mission in GW was babysitting a certain prince, so we named our guild Guardians of Rurik

Isn't it possible to play on many servers at once? I'm more PvE myself, though the WvW seemed like a lot of fun when I tried it.

You don't say. Actually, my ranger makes a better close-range dps than my thief, and one strategy (that I've also seen other rangers use) is jump in among the tanks and throw a healing spring and jump out. I have never done so much healing in my life!
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I'm a ranger, too. I'm pretty new to it, as I only have one pet and it's a fernwolf. : D

The ranger's nice and versatile. I have a bear myself, it's really useful, durable and holds aggro quite well.

My alt is a ranger, only lvl 25, but fun to play. Funny that you heal so much with your ranger!! this game sure took traditional roles and turned them on their heads.
I have yet to make a 3rd alt, but I'm sure I will. All the classes seem pretty fun and well balanced.
Also...NODES. Instancing gathering nodes is brilliant. Completely.
Speaking of, I'm going to go play for an hour or so before bed, so, goodnight!
