It seems that way, but it's a false paradigm.

I believe you misinterpreted my post. Although I believe that it is insane to worship god on any level, that was not the reference intended.

A theist worships some god of which they have 'proof'. A theist does not worship a non existent deity in their mind.

Is that ambiguous enough?

By the way, I am a firm believer in the 'brain-in-a-vat' scenario. I have engaged in discussions as to what the 'vat' is, but it digresses and fades real quick.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things.

RE: What is an atheist?
An atheist is a human being at a state of intelligence high enough to establish the laws of human history.

The human species evolved from a large primate monkey family which lived at what we call Africa today. Large droughts or a ice age changed there habitat forever, after losing there main source of food, they were forced onto a new food source of small animals(meat) changing our brain development giving us rapid intelligence grown in the last tens of thousands of years, bringing us things like fire control, science. Although in the last few hundred years our technology has rapidly elevated which can only give us statistics of where we could be in the future.

Over the time from our caveman history to todays date we have as humans created amazing things from cities to complex civil systems, thriving to learn about our history and what is beyond our planet. Thousands of years ago humans were not like they are today, then they believed in things like witches, supernatural ability and yes religion.

Atheism is what we need(a word) to describe our "class" in that sort of category. It was not simply created and means one thing, yet it is an evolution of how we managed religion up until now and basically proves why it just does not exist with solid facts of which we never had before.
