When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Sentience/subjective experience is something not really understood at all, and something that some philosophers consider impossible to explain. It does not fall under the other categories of consciousness such as self awareness and intelligence, but is something independent. It's impossible to observe a subjective experience. That being said, I agree with 5thHorseman. Whether you worship it or not will make no difference. Why waste the energy?
Always worshipped the sun...dear old Sol....
Got the tan to prove it if ya like
"The Universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements: energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest." G'Kar-B5
At least as a heliotheist you can prove the existence of your deity

Like lying naked, coated in Coconut oil and soaking up the UVA's, UVB's ?
Only to go into the surf when it gets too hot? I am liking this deity

Religion is an attempt to answer the philosophical questions of the unphilosophical man.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.
-- Homer Simpson God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion. -- Superintendent Chalmers Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things. -- Ned Flanders Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral. -- The Rev Lovejoy RE: Thoughts on heliotheism
