The bible is full of stupidity and Myth. The best is the earth is 10,000 years old. It's laughable.
How about the donkey talking?

Or... I know this is totally crazy... don't snap at me for this bizarre thought... it is a fairy tale. Tongue A fine story though... bit bland at times.

What!? Man, really? Nah, thats crazy talk... I mean how woul- bu- holy shi-... wow.
I need to lie down for a few days to absorb this.

Don't ask me. I don't even believe there really is a being called God. Or a being called Satan or beings called angels, demons, fairies, pixies, etc. Like I said, I don't believe in anything supernatural.

But using the story of a big fish that a man lives in for 3 days does not help at all. The other camp will just say God enabled him to live. There are other ways to show them that the Bible contains falsehood and even deliberate lies. It's far more involved than showing how ridiculous some of the stories are. They won't buy that if they are superstitious. They'll just say God allowed it. So my job is to corner them with the Bible itself and they have no choice but to admit that there are untruths, and even deliberate lies in the Bible.

Admitting things like that isn't necessarily the end-game move. Be prepared for the argument from ineffability:

Q: "Why are there untruths in the bible?"
A: "God put them there deliberately. He must have done or else they wouldn't be there"
Q: "Why would God deliberately put them there?"
A: "Because of his ineffable plan"
Q: "How do you know that's part of his ineffable plan?"
A: "Because it's there therefore part of the ineffable plan"
Q: "How do you know what's part of the ineffable plan?"
A: "Everything is"
Q: "So everything is ineffable?"
A: "Not to God it isn't"

...and so on, ad infinitum.
Sum ergo sum

I'm looking forward to such a debate since it was told to me in the chat room once that "Godschild couldn't even debate his way out of a McDonalds."

I'm not sure either but I remember it being really funny at the time it was said in the room.

Please say nice things of them or they might say that they refuse to debate because people are rude to them. First, Godschild insisted that a debate should be based on the Bible. I agreed. Then Lion suggested that the debate will be fought by a group of them against me alone. I agreed. Now, they are silent. But I'm told that they are sometimes away for days on end. So please be welcoming to them or they might feel that folks are hostile and they may refuse to debate with me on the basis that people are hostile.

I have no doubt that Lion, Godschild and everyone else in the team are excellent people who are knowledgeable in the Bible and are able to defend the Word of God against a "hairless kid" (as Godschild called me) who is neither familiar with the Bible nor confirmed in his salvation as a Christian as all of them think. The debate will be very educational for me. As I have said, my ideas aren't carved on rock. They are still fluid and I will formulate my understanding of the faith according to the input I receive. I do need proper Christian input if all along I have been imbibing information from "the other side". So I count on this godly group to enlighten me.

Let's begin the debate, please!!!!

I have a different definition of "Christian" which my vicar and bishop happen to agree with. But that's beside the point. Let's cut to the chase.

When can we begin the debate?

I'm going to wean myself off AF, absorbing though it may be. I have been neglecting my school work and my Mum is getting suspicious. So I will only check this thread from time to time to see if you guys are serious about having a debate. I have already agreed to a multitude of you against single me.

Get back to me on this. In the meantime, I will be off the internet but I will check this thread regularly so we can arrange a debate. I will just concentrate on the debate and the rest of the time, it's the nose to the grindstone for me.

Cheerio folks!!!!!!!

I'll be watching this thread. Lion and Godschild and others, please arrange the debate with me on this thread!!!!!
