Vigilantism is a complex moral question. Violent vigilantism often goes wrong, especially when religiously justified. However, there is at least one occasion in my life were, with hindsight, I wish I'd physically taught someone a lesson, but that would have been illegal, and that's a law I quite agree with*. So I cannot come out and say that vigilantism isn't always unfair. But evoking rocket launchers?!?!?!??! Thinking people, including by definition most atheists-by-choice, should be above that.

Just a tool to show my mind set and frustration.

You are right that vigilantism often goes wrong but when our justice system is going wrong because politicians have their head up the curches ass, what else is there to do if we want to remind authorities of their duty to their citizens?

But seriously, no, vigilantism isn't alright. If people feel the need to deliver 'justice' outside of the law, the laws that need to be revised or rewritten to better serve the society and be adequate. Or then people need to learn not to act upon their feelings. Because what's the use of a justice system, if additional (non-controlled and regulated) punishment is delivered by an angry mob?

No argument if the system was working. It is not.

When the legal justice system fails us, it is the duty of all of us to do what we can to fix it. From what I can see, that sort of thing is the only thing that will shame authorities to start administering justice and stop fearing and kowtowing to the pedophile protecting churches.

Correct. It is to the individual to make sure he has covered his rump as well as possible if caught as he would know that he likely will be.

He has to be ready to be a martyr for his cause or a hero depending on the outcome of his actions.

From my French POV, that of where governments should fear the people and not like here where the people fear the governments, I think that God should fear man and not man fear God.

Governments have to get their heads out of religions ass and stop fearing them.
