Well your people have a rich extensive history that obviously has taught Germans the lessons of too much power in too little hands.

Yes, out of desperation Mitt! No one wants to be a slave, and Mitt advocates the same race to the bottom Wal Mart does.

GO WAL MART STRIKERS! FUCK CORPORATE BULLYING AND CORPORATE BLACKMAIL

Once again, it doesn't matter, our society has been trained not to stand up for its self. Those strike won't matter, and after a week people will lose interest and go back to not caring.

Home of the brave, land of the free.

Sadly, you're probably right. I'm still hoping this all comes to a head just before the election and fucks Romney over. Even if he strike only stays in our minds for a few weeks, the right timing could cause it to have a HUGE impact. It's even possible Walmart will cave just to prevent to much bad press on their part and help prevent pro-labor candidates from gaining more votes because of it.

Are there actualy still smal buisnesses in the united states? Almoust every village here has it`s own grocery store, we have five automobile industrys (BMW, Mercedes, Opel, Audi, VW) from wich every company receives it`s parts from literaly hundreds of small specialised manufactures. Our economy based on small buisnesses as the backbone of a big number of big buisnesses, the diverse market in wich almoust everyone can open his own buisness, keept us safe through the last financial crisises.
Can one actualy still open a buisness in the US? I highly dought that when big coorparations can simply outcheap or outbuy you.
And of course when one has monopoly power, nothing is as easy as treating your employees like shit. ("where else are you going to work!")

Rest assured the counter culture is growing in america and it is centered on the issues of big business. There will always be two cultures in america, not sure if it's the same in all countries but I imagine so. What you see on t.v. or hear about in the news is only the half you are allowed to see. The counter culture is always supressed.

The fact that your country has something caled "lobbying" isn`t encouraging. And actualy makes me believe that your country`s economy will stay in that state it is for years. As well as it will make the state of your economy and labor-rights to worsen.
Let`S just go through what you call "lobbying" from a basic deffinition.
A representative of a company, pays a representative of the state - a member of your parlament, money to propose a law in your parlament. The representative of the company, then pays other members of your parlament money to vote for that law in parlament.

I dont eaven think that there is someh, kind of cultural misunderstanding here. This to me sounds like a outright definition of coruption, and I cant understand how a sociaty finds the vocabulary and ways to legitemise that practice.
You`d be lucky if you dont spend the next 15 years of your life in jail, if you something like that here.

Sadly, that's true. The counter culture tried to speak up for themselves and make enough noise to actually get things done with Occupy Wall Street. The people in power quickly squashed them for it. Brings up the frustrating question: How do you change the system? If you try to change it from the outside, you're silenced, ignored or worse. If you try to change it from the inside, you wind up seduced and becoming part of the problem.

I would say you are right, but america is a sleeping giant. People are realizing that some members of congress(allot) have been in congress and passed bad laws for over decades. I bet you don't even realize how bad it is here, there are reports in the news here that state police officers are killing citizens for no reasons. We realize our government is corrupt but for the time being they hold all the power, and the mindless masses that believe in them are just mindless masses. The harsher you treat your people, the more aggressive they become. There will be a breaking point and in the wake of economic collapse it will be soon.

When the money runs out, the government will put it's boot down. Then we shall see if america can hold true to its creed Home of the Brave, Land of the Free.

Seasonal work is better than no work at all...oh the woes of unemployment Smile

Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word

Plus, they won't give you more than 35 hrs a week (or you won't be paid for more than 35 hrs a week) and therefore won't qualify for any benefits outside of a possible 10% Walmart discount card.

Because if you're earning Wal*Mart wages, the only place you can afford to shop at is... Wal*Mart.
Same corporate scam West Virginia coal minors suffered in the 60s and 70s and before. They would pay in company script and own a monopoly on the housing and grocery stores and by the time the employee paid all the bills with the company script they were broke. Legalized slavery.

Big business cant legally do that now so the loophole is to create an entire societal gap in pay to make the middle and poor dependent on them.
