Which is what Jesus is doing to Luke with that stick, apparently.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

It could be worse:

If you really want an explanation and I really don't care if you don't to be honest.

God is referred to in the New Testament as God the Father....because Jesus was the Son of God and His sacrifice on the Cross made us His brothers and sisters, God is also our adopted Father. Since Jesus is God, then He would be our Father.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

That's not the explanation I wanted. Not because I'm not Christian - I already understand your doctrine. I just wanted to understand why a church was using a much better story with less inconsist...oh, I get why they're hijacking Star Wars now.

Star Wars is a better story? Seriously? That is one of the shittiest stories from the 20th century.

Holds my attention every time. The Hero's Journey is a much more compelling plot than the dying God. What - was the resurrecting god not enough for Jesus to copy - you had to hijack Lucas' take on another archetypal story of growth?

Do you mean hijacking Lucas' poor copy of Japanese post-war film?

The Hero's Journey has been "copied" many times - Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Sigmund, Arthur.... It's prevalent all over the world. He got it from Joseph Campbell's "Hero of a Thousand Faces".

But go ahead, your fig-hating god - tell me why it's SOOOO much more interesting.

Most of it probably came from the late 1st century. A lot thrown away in the 4th century.

Queen. Because the Bible would be R-rated. Try getting Lucas to make a decent R-rated Star Wars film that does not include annoying characters meant for ADD children.
