RE: Reply to "Atheist and ex-gay?"
Being homosexual is an orientation, not a fetish. You might want to actually look at what modern psychology has to say before you spout that shit.

Festive and Tino agreeing on something? Not a good omen. Better get right with god folks.

Here's a link to a pdf summarizing the fraternal birth order effect on likelihood of gayness.

Tino,
Thanks for the link.

Anik,
Actually, I have researched this plenty and would suggest you do so also.
Here's a start...

Evidence shows being gay IS a choice, more linked to environmental influences than to biology...

2. In 2 large studies conducted... Homosexuals overwhelmingly believed their feelings and behavior were the result of social or environmental influences.
3. Older homosexuals often approach the young
4. Early homosexual experiences influence adult patters of behavior
5. Sexual conduct is influenced by cultural factors - esp. religious convictions
6. Many change their sexual preferences
7. There are many ex-homosexuals"

The APA changed the definition of homosexuality not because of scientific studies, but because of political harrassment from gay lobbyists.

Do I need to inform you that all your sources are biased?

Actually, it's more complicated than that; the major criterion for detemining whether many deviations (especially sexual) count as disorders is: does it cause any distress? The "gay lobbyists" effectively demonstrated that it doesn't, and thus, it was dropped.

Fuck that shit. I'm drunk like I've never been drunk before, but I know biased, Christian based bullshit science when I see it. Show me a *CREDIBLE* psychological organization that currently says homosexuality is bad or anal sex is bad.

Also, if constantly changing partners is bad, does that mean you condemn Brittney Spears or Kim Kardashian getting married as much as you condemn homosexual marriage?

I'll say more about your stupid ass bullshit when I'm sober.

Define 'provable'. Is 99% not enough?

Are they [the people] necessarily right? Were the studies poorly conducted?

Being traumatized by a homosexual experience young wouldn't make you homosexual.

Religion is anti-homosexual, so...this is against your point.

If either of these were true, then why did the leaders of ex-homosexual organizations admit that they were still homosexual, that no one had ever been 'cured', and that attempting to 'cure' people resulted in psychological harm?

Even if this were/is true, then homosexuality would still not be a choice.

RE: Reply to "Atheist and ex-gay?"
It fascinates me how ignorant people are. Biological and Psychological researches have very strongly indicated that homosexuality has biological basis such as androgen released during fetus development, the size and shape of brain, size of nuclei, and so much more. Infact they have even found the "gay genes" in simpler species like fruit flies which control its interest of mating.

There are also studies that have shown children of gay parents doesnt turn out gay and very weak to non indication of any sort of childhood abuses or the manner of care taking of parents have on the sexuality of a child.

If nurturing or some sort of traumatizing incident during youth affected a persons sexuality, it would probably could easily be reversed by psychological therapy but that havent happened yet and ex-gay program have tremendous psychological harm on individuals and have zero rate of success on turning people straight.

I think it is sad that people dont know how their ignorance can be so harmful to individuals who are gay. I can bet that of self-hating gays have is the result of society's intolerance and desperately wanting to fit in.
