I didn't mean to suggest that you are doing something wrong. If that's the music you like then fine. But I thought that maybe the video game music theme was overriding the "this is my music" theme. It seemed like we were getting into the "this is the music from a video game that I love" instead of "this is music I love" which is what I think the thread is about. What I'm doing wrong is using music that doesn't hold up as well outside of context. Not only is it out of context, but there would be actual gameplay as associated with it, so when two out of the three parts are missing it is understandable why it might fall short. I will try to use either music that holds well regardless of where it is, or perhaps openings (like the Fire Emblem one). Not only are these 'in context' but, more importantly, opening music tends to be much more significant than most other pieces from a game. EDIT: Also worth noting is that I've never owned a music storage device in my life, so game-related music and some anime is all I have...sorry, I'll try to pick pieces that stand on their own better in the future. @Ocato
Thank you had not come across them before and any enemy of the Red Hot Chili Peppers is a friend of mine, so in response I give you Gong, and Tino you will like this because it is French and therefore has taste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiy5K81qvbg Sorry Darwinian, I'm a slow poster so I was writing when you posted. Every one of my punk sensibilities, was rubbed the wrong way by that video, mock mediaeval scenes, newish hard rock, fallen angels, and yet I liked the singers voice and would listen to it again, Oh I'm so fickle.
6.5/10 Pretty good, but a bit on the weird side.
8/10, the performance by a real symphony orchestra seems to help quite a bit.
Here's my entry in the video game category: RE: 'Rate the above person's music'

Wow, I don't know what to do!
Uh, 5/10? Tino Wrote:the performance by a real symphony orchestra seems to help quite a bit. The original piece was orchestrated as well (though perhaps not quite as much). Fortunately, there is more where that came from. By the way, this is one of my favorite games.
Now look what you have done Tino, You've only gone and bloody encouraged him haven't you, you should be ashamed of yourself, well if he is going to do that, then I am going to put up stuff which is all about me.
