Well, well, we had a nice little electronica theme going there for a couple of songs, that is until Darkstar grabbed the wheel and unceremoniously drove us head on (once again) into the steely death rail of another video game soundtrack. So I'll give you 3/10 for your little Zelda tune, and 1 more point for the bloody crash scene you've left behind, but now I give you something from the Beatles, not "Something" but some thing, and DS I want you to listen to every last bit of it and think hard about what you've done here and where you're going with your life!

This has a light and aery feel to it that I liked, and the playing was very good. But not great. That seemed to be the theme, to hint at greatness, but only partly deliver. It took a long time for the song to 'get somewhere,' and I was tempted to give up waiting. That being said, I thought the overall sound was too brassy for this kind of theme. Hard to explain. It's like it is trying hard to be something or go somewhere, and you see a lot of the trying hard part, less of the successes. 7/10 - which would have been an 8 under a better orchestra. (It reminded me of Gorecki's Symphony No. 3, except where Gorecki succeeded, this piece failed.)
