You think Mormonism is fundamentalist Christianity Huh

Um, yes, in some cases... it isn't an impossibility!

Although, in my case, I didn't mean to imply mormonism and fundamental as one entity that I was involved in. I was involved with fundamental christians, and later involved with mormons. Mormons consider themselves christians, and there are fundamental sects in many religions, including mormons. You should check out: "Under the Banner of Heaven". An interesting read, although, that's not what I had exposure to...

But thanks anyway for the warm welcome

RE: Honest query
Hi Maldives. I would like to ask you how you approach holidays like Easter and Christmas with your kids. How do you prepare them for interaction with their peers who come from fundamentalist families?
I realise that it must be far more difficult in some areas of the US than here in Europe where religion seems to have run its course in most countries, that is, it has been relegated to following traditions and has become a sort of talisman for right wing political parties rather than the type of everyday fanaticism you speak of. Do you find it ironic that America, being founded on liberty and freedom of belief, is now a place where the moral majority demands people adhere to its standards (outwardly at least) and ostracises families that don´t?

Nah ...Mormonism is no where near Christianity. Superficially yes there are similarities, and the introduction seems entirely Christian. The book of Mormon adds some wild superstitious junk to the mix totally separating them.
