And "You" coming on an Atheist forum trying to correct the original poster with metaphors and assumptions is no where near out of line.

How can you have a purpose in life without Jesus?
Don't you know you will go to Hell?
Who tells you what is right and wrong without God?
LMFAO I like the last one. I tell them that I tell myself what is right and wrong and they get this look on their face like I just screwed their mother!!!

I get shit from other atheists who 'believe in belief'. About how I'm 'just as bad' because I'm a so-called 'atheist fundamentalist' - I'm not even a gnositc atheist FFS! I'm strongly opposed to religion and I am very interested in and care a lot about the matter, I also care about what's true. I am interested in this. What's their problem?
I try very hard, not to cringe and wince very hard when I hear one of these people say "I wish I could believe in nonsense like that. Must be comforting, they're so happy, blah [ etc, etc, blah blah blah blah]" (referring to religion), I dont, I pity them - and I think I'd rather eat my own head if it were possible.

I, in my whole life, have never thought such a thing. I think completely the opposite. To me it is a liberating and freeing feeling not to believe in god. I have not one to answer to except myself and I am completely comforted and happy about that

Thanks, I figured that out today. I'm a little slow, but admitting it is half the battle 
And I went to a Chiropractor. Man my back feels better. All these years wasted going to Dr.s and being sent home with muscle relaxers and Vicodin. Although the Vicodin was kinda fun

I am endlessly being asked about what happened to me, what sort of tragic event or bad church experience led to the demise of my faith. Generally speaking my answer is that the Church has little to do with my lack of belief, instead it is God and the Bible I have the gripe with...
My last couple years as a Christian were spent studying the Bible trying to decipher exactly what I believed....the Bible ruined god for me.
