I Am An Atheist! Ask Me A Question!

RE: I Am An Atheist! Ask Me A Question!
When you visit a Christian bulletin board, and you see a Christian ask that question. they are trying to teach you the bible. I know of many people (Christians included) that don't understand scripture. And as for you calling someone an "idiot" is way out of line. Why would someone ask an atheist a religious question? atheists are anti-religious. That's like asking a muslim suicide bomber about Jesus Christ.
[/quote]

why do u say Muslim suicide bomber ?? maybe its his religion but his not acting according
read from the source ( the book of muslims (Quran) ):

fight in the way of allah those who fight against you, but do not aggress. allah does not love the aggressors. (190) kill them wherever you find them. drive them out of the places from which they drove you. dissension is greater than killing. but do not fight them by the holy mosque unless they attack you there; if they fight you, kill them. like this is the recompense of the unbelievers,, (191) but if they desist, know that allah is the forgiver and the most merciful. (192) fight against them until there is no dissension, and the religion is for allah. but if they desist, there shall be no aggression except against the harmdoers. (193) the sacred month for the sacred month, prohibitions are (subject to) retaliation. if any one aggresses against you, so aggress against him with the likeness of that which he has aggressed against you. fear allah, and know that allah is with the cautious. (194)

-----------------------------------------------------------
allah means god in english

and if u ask a muslim about jesus christ we will say:

In the Qur'an, there are many stories about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ (called 'Isa in Arabic). The Qur'an recalls his miraculous birth, his teachings, the miracles he performed by God's permission, and his life as a respected prophet of God. The Qur'an also repeatedly reminds that Jesus was a human prophet sent by God, not part of God Himself. Below are some direct quotations from the Qur'an regarding his life and teachings of Jesus.

He Was Righteous
"Behold! the angels said, 'Oh Mary! God gives you glad tidings of a Word from Him. His name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter, and in (the company of) those nearest to God. He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. He shall be (in the company) of the righteous... And God will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel'" (3:45-48).

He Was a Prophet
"Christ, the son of Mary, was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how God makes His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!" (5:75).

"He [Jesus] said: 'I am indeed a servant of God. He has given me revelation and made me a prophet; He has made me blessed wheresoever I be; and He has enjoined on me prayer and charity as long as I live. He has made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable. So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)!' Such was Jesus the son of Mary. It is a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute. It is not befitting to (the majesty of) God that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! When He determines a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is" (19:30-35).

He Was a Humble Servant of God
"And behold! God will say [i.e. on the Day of Judgment]: 'Oh Jesus, the son of Mary! Did you say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of God?' He will say: 'Glory to Thee! Never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would indeed have known it. You know what is in my heart, though I know not what is in Yours. For You know in full all that is hidden. Never did I say to them anything except what You commanded me to say: 'Worship God, my Lord and your Lord.' And I was a witness over them while I lived among them. When You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a witness to all things'" (5:116-117).

His Teachings
"When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: 'Now I have come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which you dispute. Therefore, fear God and obey me. God, He is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him -- this is a Straight Way.' But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement. So woe to the wrongdoers, from the penalty of a Grievous Day!" (43:63-65)

RE: I Am An Atheist! Ask Me A Question!
And welcome to you as well.

Why is it that most of the deeply religious who come here don't seem to have the common courtesy to introduce themselves first and say hello but instead launch straight into an argument with large quotes from the internet.

Are they simply rude?

Anyway, I must advise you that your post is pretty close to preaching. If you have something to say then please use your own words. After a while it may be acceptable for you to use citations such as these to support your argument but not for your first post.

Also, you ask what Religious Views means. I'm not sure that it can be phrased any clearer than that. What are your religious views? Do you have any particular theological stance or affiliation.

You are simply being obtuse. Whether it is deliberate or not remains to be seen.

Before you post any more please refer to the Rules and the Guidelines For Theists

What relevance does it have to the thread anyway?

See....I don't. You lot have nothing to say but that doesn't stop you from saying it ad nauseam.

When you show up here, though, then you are in the cross hairs.

When you first join you are heavily encouraged to introduce yourself first.

Quoting large chucks of the Quran at atheists comes across as preaching.

Thanks Smile

Let's see ... um ... it'll come I'm sure ... hmm ... well ... er ... no, sorry, can't think of a bloody thing I want to ask a theist! Perhaps you'd do better in a Christian forum? They already believe in something stupid so why not something else?
