Upgrading to windows 8

Upgrading to windows 8
So windows 8 is out tomorrow and I was wondering. What is likely to happen if I upgrade my laptop to Windows 8? Is it likely to cause problems with my laptop?

My laptop is pretty new and runs well at the moment so I don't really want to screw it up. Smile

I'd stay with Windows 7 until people have had 8 for a few months. It's then that all the problems or most useful features will become apparent. After that, you can decide if it's a good enough OS to buy. : D

Woah, is it going to be out already?! I've seen/heard zero hype about it...

VM that bitch.

I'm only starting on Windows 7. My lost netbook had windows 7 starter, and while replacing the netbook, I ordered Windows 7 Ultimate for the desktop. I will however, take advantage of the cheap 7 --> 8 upgrade options lying about.

My roommate got a free trial of windows 8 (I think he was randomly selected to test it, or something). It is...very different from windows 7 from the small amount I've seen.

I do like windows 7. It looked to me a lot like the Xbox dashboard which I found a bit weird. I guess I'll see if its worth getting after a while.

Windows 7 is good. If half of the negative things I've read about Windows 8 in reviews are true... See the picture two posts up. Big Grin
