You bring up a good point. It seems like we are damned either way. Maybe instead, we should stop voting, strengthen the Green and Libertarian parties (the most powerful third parties), and later, vote for them. I see not voting as a temporary thing. Right now, voting third party is useless, because people are still caught up in the false dichotomy of Democrat vs Republican. First, we should encourage resentment towards said parties, then offer alternatives. However, we cannot do so if people are voting for the lesser of two evils!

Spectrum, I also agree with what you're saying but when there's a chance that a guy like Romney will be elected, it's time to accept things for what they are and just give the W to the lesser evil; Obama.

I acknowledge that both parties are inherently corrupt. However, Republicans are actively regressive in some very important ways. I will, therefore, vote for the party which has the best chance of preventing Republicans from assuming power in this country.
If I refuse to vote, I am giving my implicit support to hatred of minorities and women and the imposition of wicked biblical morality on the entire populace, which is a huge part of the Republican platform.

We are just fucked either way. We either continue the problem of having bad candidates, or let the neo-cons win.

You're only voting for him, because you dislike Romney. The lesser of two evils logic discounts holism. In reality, the continued lowering of standards by an uninformed public, who just votes for the better of two sleazy candidates, ensures that we will always have bad candidates to choose from.
