Habermas? Seriously? We've definitely got to get Ken over here!
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

But fine, how about this- Do you believe that the earth is less than ten thousand years old? I mean, since your "smart" enough "not" to believe in a talkin snake... Who was in a perfect Eden among one man and one woman who were "perfect." I stated there was no talking snake in the Garden, where do you get there was a talking snake in the Garden. There however was a sly serpent in the Garden and he talked, this serpent had legs disqualifying it as a snake. That's till God took them away and then sent him away crawling on his belly and eating dirt. I believe it's possible the earth is 50,000 years old, however no older. Everything in the Garden was perfect until the fallen Lucifer entered Eden. God banished him, Adam and Eve after the fall of man, the Garden was once again perfect and eventually removed from the earth. This little spec of info is utterly useless, an atheist trying to tell a Christian how to conduct his relationship with Christ, that's like a spec telling a boulder how to crush something. Pun intended! Spec-of-dust Wrote:Furthermore I predict you celebrate Christmas. This is in direct disobedience to the word of your Jesus Christ. He told his bro's to celebrate his going, not his coming. You predict, now that's.... well ![]() Spec-of-dust Wrote:To me this behavior from christy's like you warrants that you are not devout. I claim that most Christians are not devout. I think most know there never was a god but just won't admit it. It's ok though, you see, because that's why I can forgive you-you're not religious, you're mostly all just retarded. You must be delusional, tell us Christians just what we should do to be devout, I would like books, chapters and verses from scriptures, all of them so I'll know what to do exactly. I do not need your forgiveness, the forgiveness I receive from Christ is sufficient.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Either take your bible literally completely or not at all Dogchild. Genesis especially, is supposed to be taken literally. A book not intended to be taken literally asks to be critiqued, therefore there are 7 billion different( and all equally "correct") meanings for it which kinda makes it stand for nothing.

Look at your own bible Dogchild. You want proof, there it is. Start to finish word for word . You ever done that? Doubtful. Sadly i have. I was not born an atheist , dummy. This world tried to prevent my intelligence with religion. Losing the battle, religion tried to maneuver around my intellect, but no dice. I was once ignorant like you, when I was eight.
If you had reasoning skills, you would be on my side but for too long you have allowed all power to be stripped from you and given to a fairy tale villain. Someone failed you. Teach a man to reason and he will think for a lifetime Didn't see any questions there , bud. I'm a stranger who you owe nothing to, and you question me. But a imaginary Heavenly Father demands your life-long servitude and your first in line no questions asked. ... Hmmm.... Good logic. Looks like a promising and fulfilling life you got goin on there. Are you rofl now? Did you pray for Romney to win? Lol RE: Do to really believe a snake talked?!

(November 8, 2012 at 8:01 pm)Godschild Wrote: Non-existence does make sense, and I do agree with your definition of non-existence. What I do not agree with is that everything was non-existent. God has always been and is the cause of all that has ever existed. Non-existence is impossible. The idea of a non-existent thing doesn't make sense because a non-existent thing isn't a thing. It's nothing. Imaginary things exist, sure. But they actually exist then, in your imagination, as ideas. If imaginary things didn't exist in the sense of them being completely absent then they would also be absent from our minds/brains. The imagination is, of course, imaginary. So in a way it isn't real and therefore doesn't exist. But does this mean it doesn't exist in the sense that we don't have an imagination? No. These are two different definitions of non-existent: Non-existent in the sense of absent, and non-existent in the sense of imaginary. Let us not confuse the two. Yes there are imaginary things, but are there completely absent things? Things that aren't even present in an imaginary form? No. No things are absent from the totality of existence itself because if anything was absent from that totality it wouldn't be a thing. So, in that sense everything exists. The imagination actually exists in the sense that it is present: people have an imagination. If it's absent then it doesn't exist because it isn't anything at all. That is clearly not the case because we do actually have an imagination. |
