It doesn't matter how legitimate our story is or how identical it is to yours.
It's never good enough. Ask Frohole, Dick, Godspile or any of our local christards ... we weren't REAL CHRISTIANS simply because they say so.
Why bother proving the legitimacy of our conviction to a religion that would rather see us burn anyway?
Nope. not playing.
Gee That's silly. If I claim I'm Elvis Presley, does that make me authentic?
O MY GOD ... worst analogy ever. I gotta post this in the Stupid Posts Thread.
1. Claiming to be a christian and claiming to be a singular real historical person is a non sequitur to the millionth degree.

It's the appeal to ridicule - a very special kind of strawman, one which is designed to sound as silly as possible. It's also highly revealing, in a Dunning-Kruger sense; the only way to make one's position seem even slightly rational by comparison is to concoct a position even more stupid.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

OK, I'll grant the symmetry of the analogy is off.
Change Elvis to a 'Dallas Cowboy' or a 'Brain surgeon'
You need a real argument. You have none.

It's still off, Sir Chumpsworth. To be a Dallas Cowboy or a brain surgeon requires a significant amount of skill, learning and natural talent. There is a clear and incontestable standard for a Dallas Cowboy or a brain surgeon.
What makes a Christian legit? Ask a million Christians, get a million different answers. There's no official governing body of Christianity. There are no entrance exams. You do not need skill, learning or talent to be a Christian. There is no universally-recognized standard, because everybody interprets scripture to mean whatever they want and nobody can prove any of these interpretations to be THE correct one and the whole thing is based on fiction anyway. You can be an illiterate cumfart and still be a true Christian. I daresay that makes it a lot easier.
Claiming to be a Christian is like claiming to be a Journey fan. By what authority could one ever dispute either claim?

No, the claim does not require skill and talent. The authenticity rests in the objective validity - not the claim.
You are simply wrong to believe any claim of Christian constitutes an authentic claim. This should be obvious - even to a stupid Atheist fool, I daresay
Hey Cinjin. Listen little fellow, you need to man up and make an argument if you wan't to play hardball. Feigning laughter and empty posturing isn't fooling anyone.

Exactly how we feel about your bullshit. You could try providing actual evidence.
If you had any.

Ok mister know-it-all please explain the standards I've used, you are implying you know aren't you. Hint: I've said some can be a real Christian and then just give it up, for what ever reason that made sense to them. However I would like to see from you what my criteria for being a real Christian is, because when it comes down to it the only thing that counts is what God knows.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Quote:The authenticity rests in the objective validity - not the claim.
Then please give us objective criteria to decide who is a Christian.
