I think it is we that suffer.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Nah. He's just your garden variety Dunning-Kruger. Although I'm touched that he cared enough to look up the Japanese script. He must really care deeply. RE: Avoiding questions

Now I understand the thread title says "Avoiding questions", but I hope your avoidance of my question was not intentional. Especially when you told me exactly how you would answer my question. All I have to to is provide a situation and a question. Just in a case you missed it.
When you are on this forum and someone asks you a question about the holy bible which one do you use to refer to?( I have provided a situation and asked a question) Also here is a reminder of what you said "If you want to know which one I use in a given situation then provide the situation and ask a question." I said any direct translation would be considered a Holy Bible. Not only that I provided you with a wiki link explaining the different types of transaltions. Do you still not understand? or can we move on now? (December 2, 2012 at 10:24 am)Drich Wrote:You are avoiding the question. The question is NOT what you consider the holy bible to be. "Read this next part carefully as I am only going to tell you this once more. I use more than one bible. If you want to know which one I use in a given situation then provide the situation and ask a question." This is the given situation as asked: When you are on this forum and someone asks you a question about the holy bible This is the question asked during the above situation: which one do you use to refer to? In truth some of you seem incapiable of asking revelant questions. You build these straw men and demand that we account for the god you or your favorite 'hate God website' has created, and when confronted with your incorrect understanding of God.
--------------------------------------- What INCORRECT understanding of god is that - ???? To date - no one has ever presented any PROOF of the existence of a god that can be tested and verified. THAT is why there are SO MANY different gods worshiped by so many different people - A claim that a god is beyond proof only means that YOU CANNOT have any knowledge of that god as well - so your claims about a god cannot be supported by anything. So - IF you have the ability to PROVE your god - POST THE PROOF - otherwise -= your statement is just another piece of self serving nonsense that has no proven validity. It is OUR understanding that gods are human created fairy tales - the christian god being in a book of fairy tales called the bible. AND - since the very first page of the bible does indeed contain a fairy tale - that is NOT TRUE in reality - I have reality on my side Some seem to thing that the theist here are avoiding questions. ------ YUP - the first and most basic one is where is the PROOF of YOUR god WHEN asked - ALL theists run for the hills -= or attempt to place the burden on others to disprove THE claim is yours to support - to date NO theist has ever proven a god exists - much less it is their god. |
