Again....But it's never the guns!
http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/14/sho...ry-school/

Latest reports are 26 dead...18 kids, 8 adults.

Let the fucking NRA add that to its side of the ledger.

This happened in my home state What kinda of nut kills kids? I don't know how these crazies can get guns so easily? A few days ago it there was a mall shooting. there are so many guns out there now I read there are more guns than people in the U.S.

Who wants to take bets on how long it's gonna be before we hear some gun-nut tell us how this never would have happened if the victims were armed, too?

Guns violence is a symptom of the real problem. You don't treat cancer with cough syrup.

While I'd agree the additional screening/waiting periods are a good idea, you have the understand that if someone really wants a gun right now, unregistered and untraceable (such as having the serial number filed away, which is not legal), they can do it. The government does about as well with keeping guns out of these people's hands as they do with keeping weed out of my hands.

Finally, and I respect your right to post these things and talk about these things, using an incident like this and trying to tack it onto the NRA instead of the man who was really, truly responsible for it is... I'm not going to say it's wrong, but it's a real kick in the teeth to the people suffering right now. Using horrible tragedies as a soapbox for political agendas is deplorable to me. That soapbox is made of still warm bodies of the innocent. I'm more worried about the families than about the fucking NRA, which did not personally put a gun in his hand, switch off a person's empathy and convince him to hurt people. This is my opinion and only that.

If only we allowed first-graders to carry firearms. :c

What a terrible tragedy.

Dave Mustaine will inevitably find a way to blame it on Obama.

I disagree Annik.

Weed grows everywhere. Weed can grow on bare nutrients in a hydroponic grow with <500$ investment. I know -- I've built a few for "friends".

Guns, on the other hand, require advanced manufacturing capacities.

You can't easily make a gun as you can grow pot.

So your example is bullshit.

Guns are easy to get across state lines.

With gaining a gun, you gain the capability to do acts that the gun is designed for -- ie kill. Doesn't matter if it is in self defense or premeditated, there is an intent to kill.

Show me the criminal intent inherent in the design/biology of weed, then you'll have an accurate example.

How does intent factor into the government's ability to kept the item away from me? It doesn't.

There is no criminal intent in owning a gun. However the government does a shitty job at keeping people from owning anything that is easily accessible and people want to have. Considering how many guns are already in the country, the idea of getting rid of them is about as realistic as keeping me away from internet porn.

Never specified criminal intent. Y'all made that bullshit up.

I said intent.

A gun is a weapon designed to kill.

The intent on owning a weapon designed to kill is to kill.

We allow, legally, that intent for the purpose of self defense.

Stop being obtuse. I'm very flat on the issue.

Again, you're proving you're an idiot.

The Assault Weapons ban has obviously worked.

Once again, you conflate two entirely different things together, stupid stoner.
