I said intent.
Do you think I can't read a paragraph up or something.

You were meaning to compare weed with the topic at hand right? Or were you just comparing it with some random thing we weren't talking about?

I saw this coming a mile way.
http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/12...n-schools/
The Michigan Republican party has responded by attempting to make it easier to carry guns and to lift gun-free zones like schools.
I can't imagine school going well had there been guns on campus. When I think about some of the crazy people I go to college with, I'm honestly afraid one of them might be armed. School is already scary enough; we don't need to be afraid of being shot by a classmate with a few screws loose!

To be fair here, I've been debating with Syn for years and we disagree on this point and on capital punishment. He's not intellectually dishonest. I don't mean to speak for him, but I'm fairly certain that he forgot what he wrote when he made that second comment. I'm sure it was not done on purpose and with the assumption that you are stupid, Captain.
Syn, don't you smoke pot?

That's okay, I'm not offended, I just thought it was a funny oversight in the same post he called (I assume jokingly) Annik a stupid stoner.

Fair enough. I should've been specific, let's be specific:

There, happy?
Doesn't invalidate my points or magically show that guns and pot are comparable.
They're not.

Same crap enters my code at times and makes for the most embarrassing mistakes in the middle of complex metaprograms.

I admit I was too quick to call names. An apology is deserved to Annik for the insult (both of them). She's not stupid nor does being a stoner invalidate anything.
I'm heavily stressed in my new job with no connects. It's hard to contain my anger at times.
Sorry all.

Syn, I think you're misunderstanding my point anyway. I'm confused because I equated laws regarding guns keeping guns out of the hands of people that would abuse them as being just as effective as laws keeping weed out of my hand. I didn't specify intent for either. I'm just saying the the government sucks at limiting illegal things. Again, this doesn't mean I think anyone should be able to pick up a gun (I'm actually kind of appalled at what you can walk away with from a WalMart or something). It was just to illustrate the government's ineffectiveness in these matters. You don't need to apologize to me, I'm not bothered by it.

Bullfuckingshit.
No one is sitting here using this tragedy as an excuse to push their agendas.
They're bringing up the perfectly valid question of why fuckers like this have access to guns in the first place. It's nothing to do with a fucking agenda, it's everything to do with finding ways to prevent assholes from doing this in the first place. If that's supposedly deplorable and insulting to the victims, then frankly I need to know what frickin' planet you're living on.
I've not been alive very long, but I've heard a hell of a lot more shootings take place in America with their freedom with guns, than in places like the UK that actually outlaw those pointless pieces of metal.

Human violence and horror existed long before guns were even invented.

And look at how much more devastating those horrors became when guns were invented. Do me a favour.
That you can still kill someone with your fists is no argument against the fact that guns make it a shit ton easier.

Syn, life is full of stresses and this is the kind of thing that makes everyone stressed. You're cool by me.
Napo, I read today that more school shootings have occurred in the UK in the past decade by far. Sorry. I'll try to find some stats on that. Also, obviously there is an agenda. Raising a point where you obviously have an opinion is promoting an agenda. It's not to say that promoting an agenda is bad. I simply think a lot of us think it is bad timing. A lot of people aren't even taking a breath to say how sad it is. It's just straight to, "Oh, the guns! Those fucking guns!" /observation
