Ugly cars in the 60s to 90s

Dear old people, it seems to me that basically almost all cars (aside from a few sports cars) that were designed in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and a good portion of the 90s were really ugly. At the time, did you think the cars of those eras looked ugly? Or did you think they looked good at the time?

Most new cars look awful compared to older ones (and that's coming from an 18 year old.).

I'd rather have a classic mini than one of the new BMW ones for sure. Older cars also have more character; you don't get the mad Citroens and Saabs anymore, or the variety of different errors British Leyland cars could have.

Also, older cars are much more memorable. In recent years, there's been no cars (or not many) made famous by TV shows or films.

Even though I know shit all about cars, I have to agree that new cars look bland. I'm rather fond of the look of some of the old mg cars myself.

The 70s and 80s had a lot of very hideous vehicles. I think this began to change in the mid 90s.

I don't think cars are ugly now, but they're certainly less distinctive. Everything looks too alike.

My granddad drove this car for 40 years:



Then my mum drove it for another 20.

If I am not mistaken it must still be at her place and still working.
It is such a simple masterpiece of ingenering. Even a complet technik-noob like myself can screw it appart and put it together again, aswell as can learn to understand how to make repairs.
And it`s a nice drive, although being fuck ugly.
