So to sum up: you signed up here for some "intelligent conversation" and so, sure enough, the first thread to catch your interest is called "Ignorant Fucks"? A thread which you then extend to make a general condemnation of the whole forum and everyone in it? This is "finding out"?

Welcome aboard, btw. Maybe introduce yourself properly, get to know us, even take a look around the rest of the place before making up your mind. Who knows, we may grow on you.

Touche. I agree that it certainly was a poor choice of post, but one that caught my eye nonetheless. I think I was just trying to see what someone could get so pationate about to title a post so aggressively. I should point out that I didn't condemn the forum or all those in it, simply the immaturity of many posts. I also didn't say I had made up my mind on the entire site, and I will certainly look around further.

Let me now apologise for not introducing myself. I have never signed up to a forum before and do not know the etiquette. However, it's on me to find these things out, so again I apologise.

My name is Richard. I am 28 and am a Muslim convert of about 10 years. I like to keep an open mind on philosophy hence me signing up to this post.

Wow. I signed up to this forum believing I was going to have some intelligent conversation. This is the first post I look at and the only sensible replies are coming from those defending Muslims. The rest of you are like a bunch of 10 year olds bitching about something you know very little about. I thought atheists claimed to be the 'rational' ones? Well maybe you should start acting like it. I did not call atheists irrationa., I said that the comments on this particular thread was not befitting of those that describe themselves as rational, and that they should behave better in future if they want to retain that good reputation (obviously in not so many words). I also did not call atheists 10 year olds (although I'm sure some are). I said that many commenters on this post were behaving like 10 year olds. That is entirely deifferent.

Misleading or Misquoting? There's a big difference.

From what I can tell, German kept it mostly in context, but I would recommend exiting this thread and joining a thread more conducive to your sensibilities. It would seem rather clear to me that a man of your sensitive nature might want to steer clear of this thread based solely on the Thread Title.
