Just wanted to suggest that it'd be neat if when somebody replies to you in a thread, you get a notification of that. There are some threads I don't want to subscribe to but I also don't want to miss anyone if they'd replied to me.

Then make certain that you tick the "get email notifications" box in your User CP under Options

We have a notification system over on opforum... I was sceptical to begin with, but it is actually pretty good.

Yeah, I use to use that. But it delivers everyone's replies to a thread's OP. For some threads, I'd only like to see notifications to replies specifically addressed to my reply.

Someone is working on a plugin: https://github.com/euantor/MyAlerts

It's a less invasive alerting system, so you won't get emails. It'll be more like Facebook notifications (i.e. you visit the site and see there are new alerts for you).
