If we're just talking about altering our perception of time when we talk about stopping or reversing it (and by using this language that is the only thing we could be talking about) then taking a picture or traveling faster than light would both qualify. Being that we currently understand time (more accurately space-time) to be a dimension of the universe..."stopping it" in any other sense than our perception of it would see, to be a wholly different proposition, as it's not actually "moving" simply existing. We're the ones moving through it. As DvF mentioned, it's difficult for me to understand a question like this, but are we talking about removing one of the dimensions of the universe, and wondering how that would affect us?

I'm interested in exploring are we even sure that although a function which we call time exists can we be sure we have the correct perception of it and if not what could the implications be. I'm thinking along the lines of if you woke up in a train carriage and had the train was in a tunnel and for some reason had forgotten how you got there but from some exploration had seen a train map that you then knew you were in said tunnel how would you know what direction you were going with no outside reference points to judge by. See the train carriage as the cosmos and time as the direction and the singularity as one end of the tunnel and a fully expanded universe as the other. Without the contraint of assuming that what we perceive as past is past not future and visa versa. Its not going to be a proof of Gods existance whatever way we are travelling or experience time just a look at an idea out of the box. And my own messing around.
