Hell, I've seen evidence of it just in my lifetime! You should see what's happening with the deregulation and privatization of electric companies and phone companies. Sure, we started getting some neat bells and whistles, especially when phones started getting deregulated, but the way they did business changed, too. Prices went up because the phone companies were all competing for the big corporate bids. They charge the big office buildings a lot less for service, they charge private citizens a lot more to make up for it, they throw in a few extra frills and then they tell us how free we are.
