Liberal and Conservative Oversimplistic Labels?

Liberal and Conservative Oversimplistic Labels?
I don't find liberal and conservative labels all the useful anymore just because of the social/economic divide. The double axis system works better for me:

Here's a representation of how modern politicians might fit on it:

Or if you prefer the historical approach:

I'm in the libertarian right near the axis:

There's a fairly accurate quiz here:
Political Spectrum Quiz

And another one here:

Is this more useful? And where do you fit?

Pretty far to the left, and close to the bottom.

I completely agree, not to mention the fact the labels 'liberal' and 'conservative' have a different meaning outside the US. Personally I am on the libertarian right, just like I suspected, however that quiz appears to me to be biased by american politics and not global politics, questions like 'Is one race superior?' shouldn't even exist in a quiz, that's just forcibly making people more liberal than conservative...

I think both liberals and conservatives should try to reach an agreement while making decisions instead of verbally and reciprocally insulting and bashing each others with prejudiced expressions that only confirm stereotypes, eg Liberals calling conservatives 'racist' because they are against affirmative action, or conservatives claiming liberals 'want to live with other people's money' just because they want to regulate major business to prevent abuses.

Language tends to change meaning as new information is gathered, and these labels are no exception.

Whenever I take one of those quizzes, I tend to be on the left and a little more authoritarian than libertarian.l

I'm a pro-gay marriage, anti-affirmative action independent. I'm pro abortion, pro-euthanasia, and pro-gun for those that are able to safely hold and fire a gun. I voted for Obama twice, but would not do it a third time if I could. However, at this point, I also would not vote Republican.

I like the terms, but yes, in the rest of the world, they seem to mean something different. As well, most Americans are somewhere in the middle.

"Hate" is a strong word, but, yes, I don't align with a lot of Americans.

It's curious that in my country left wing politics and state intervention is leading people to become more right wing orientated, I guess in america the opposite may be happening.
