Despite the big and widespread protests throughout France in the past months, the bill to legalise gay marriage on a federal level was passed in the French parlament today.
Left to vote on is still if adoption should be legal for homosexuals in France.
I like it when a backwards populations protests are useless because the parlament decides to do the right thing. I didn`t think that president Hollande would have the guts to push this through in a socialy conservative country as France. And now France is more progressive on this issue than Germany which is a more liberal nation with top politicians being homosexuals.
Kudos to Hollande and the French socialist party.
