Actually, no. They never discovered alcohol until the Europeans gave it to them, and it killed a shitload of them with alcoholism. This is why most Aboriginal people should not drink.

The Dutch and Portugese wouldnt have colonised it anyway. Their empires were mainly trading empires, focused on getting their hands on certain key cities, ports and landmarks which could increase their revenue through trade.

Colonialisation never really was their kind of thing. Their "colonies" were mainly trade ports and bases.
