I was banned from RDF because I didn't like the new guidelines and thought I'd show'em what I thought of their rules. I wanted a perm-ban so to remove any temptations of returning. That was over 11 months ago. Big Grin
The staff and some members were behaving like complete berks. I wanted nothing more to do with it/them.

Yes I was there then Ace. And followed you to the various offshoots. What a storm that was. And then some.

An internal conflict. A big one!
Entertaining to watch though.

I was entranced. The site admin was at the centre - trying to interpret what Richard wanted in cleaning up the site to pander to supposed standards for charitable status. Wow it just imploded big style. (would you agree with that Ace?)

Absolutely. The clean up pissed alot of people off because it meant the removal of a section of the forum and the adding of new yet pathetic rules. Sure didn't go down well. I did read before they removed it that one of the rules stated that you weren't allowed to flirt. Thread deletions went up and bannings too. Then the mods would become very trigger happy which caused more problems.
That was why I turned on the forum by attacking the rules directly. Got the perm-ban that I was aiming for. Big Grin

Amazing. I'd forgotten that stuff.. the deletions ..gotta piss anyone off. A serious personal affront all of it. Yeah OT was gone, and the acceptable stuff being put back a little at a time. All of it a major U turn when the forum was so well established, and that U turn so poorly administered. Am I right in thinking that OBC still hasn't recovered?

The forums I seems to have stuck with have very level headed admins. It takes something special to be that grounded IMO. I don't think I could do it.

I've spotted OBC jumping from forum to forum but haven't seen him in a while.
He broke down a little but I think he is doing far better now.
You'd see him in differant atheist forums.

RE: Christianforums.com
OBC and Bella had some fallout recently and I haven't seen or heard from him since. I had a talk with Cali (you know, the blue butterfly) about the VET's situation on RDF in Manchester and it seems while the other mods an admins were trying to make some kind of arrangement to get vets redone in some other way as not to damage the charitable status of RDF, which meant some threads like the bondage one needed to go, OBC went in as if he ran the place, and dumped the whole VET's forum into /dev/null. That got a lot of people in an uproar and then Richard made the very silly remark about "go and suck your thumb on that other forum" and that was the straw that broke the camels back.
Best regards,
