That's how you win friends and gain credibility - play the man instead of the ball. No wonder you're Mr Popular round here.

[Also please learn how to quote properly. I fixed it this time but it's really not that difficult; in fact, it's easier than the method you're currently using as it saves much effort and potential confusion. And if you really must play about with colourful text, have you considered using black?]

The redneck of materialism never get it or at least they get the message only after they loose the fight.
It remind me when i was driving taxis in Sydney.
In the 70 and 80 people could smoke almost anywhere and to keep smokers off my cab was a real struggle.
People thought that there was nothing wrong with smoking anywhere they like.
The law was absent as it would be a political suicide to ban smoke in public places considering the number of smokers. It took many more years of struggle to convince the politician to change the law.
Now these redneck changed their way and are very careful before they light up in public places.
The same redneck of materialism are today ridicule those who say that the material-physical dimension is the most primitive form of life.
In this case the politician can not do anything and rightly so.
What will trigger a change will be the same occurrence that cause the collapse of the materialistic culture, from the communist system to now the almost defunct capitalist system.
Is not only an economic collapse is also a moral collapse.
When the bottom is reached people tend to come up to the surface and usually they change their mind and way of doing things that is why i am sure that the rednecks of materialism will wake up and grow up.Angel

It would be good for you if i could bring evidence to your TABLE but unfortunately for you you are the only one that will be able to bring this evidence to the TABLE or better up to your consciousness.
Materially speaking i could show you a nugget of gold to prove that the gold exist but spiritually speaking the gold is hidden within your essence and you are the only one that is able to bring it up to your TABLE.Banghead

What are the spiritual aspects of a TABLE? LIke, is that something I can attain, spritually speaking?

Would it be too dogmatic to be a spiritual TABLE and label oneself as such?

Seriously though, do you think asking for evidence for claims is dogmatic?

Actually i never planned to become Mr Popular when i decided to come here.
Having different ideal from atheist i knew from the beginning that that was impossible. I came here because it would be boring to talk all the time with people with similar ideals.

Stimbo Wrote:[Also please learn how to quote properly. I fixed it this time but it's really not that difficult; in fact, it's easier than the method you're currently using as it saves much effort and potential confusion.

I try but i am not that good with those code.

Stimbo Wrote:And if you really must play about with colourful text, have you considered using black?

I thought that it was a good idea to use colorful text.
In this way it would be easy to distinguish between a quote and a reply.
But if you think otherwise then i will write in black.Worship

By the way in the link that you gave me it say...............When quoting someone, it's important to remember it's considered bad netiquette to quote a large post or image, especially when replying to them with only a few sentences..............well look here where apophenia reply

http://atheistforums.org/thread-18616-page-11.html

i hope you draw the attention of these guys when they show BAD NETIQUETTE as well or when they swear direct to anyone. Thanks

You'll have to show me where I've identified myself as a materialist. Otherwise, thanks for sharing .. I guess. And so long. Unless you post something soon which indicates you've read and thought about what people have actually said, I think I've heard all that you have to say. Enjoy your special place.

enrico... I am thinking thou protests too much.

What are you running from, that you have to find "refuge" in religion?

Occasionally, yes, mainly when their "BAD NETIQUETTE" (including SHOUTING) becomes a problem or they persist in it to the detriment of the thread. Swearing only becomes an issue when used as part of a personal attack on another member or in lieu of genuine substance, otherwise we don't care very much. If you think there's a problem that you feel ought to be brought to the attention of staff, you are perfectly welcome, indeed encouraged, to do what everyone else does and report it. I guarantee it will be given all the consideration it is deemed to deserve.

Why don't you tell me again how to do my job?

Actually when the minimalist swear direct to me or Whateverist told me...little turd or Apophenia replied with a big picture with written fail i never complained.
It is only when Stimbo told me that i hit the person and not the ball that i point out to him that it seem a bit strange to pick on me alone.
I am not really interested in reporting anyone to the moderator or whoever is in charge.
When i was driving taxis i have been swear to, i have been bashed, i have been robbed, i had people vomiting inside the cab, i had people taking off without paying the fare and so on so i am quite used to put up with only swearing to me.
The main thing is that i am still alive and well.Angel

Fine, if you don't want to file reports then no-one's going to force you (though your attention is drawn to General Forum Rule #11). On the other hand, this would suggest that you would not feel affected by any perceived insults and attacks; thus you would have very little grounds for complaint. Play the martyr card all you like but if staff are not alerted to members' problems, how can we possibly address them?

When I commented that you had "play[ed] the man instead of the ball", it was in response to your dismissing whateverist's character instead of addressing his point - a textbook ad hominem attack. I did not "pick on" you and certainly never impugned your character; this was never personal and I am left wondering why you chose to interpret it as such.

Everything else I wrote was intended to help you in terms of proper use of forum facilities, which has clearly paid off in spades.
