Atheism Undermines Knowledge
|
I'm very late to the party, but I thought I might add what I've been thinking on this topic:
Does time necessarily have to be stacked up by a conscious being? No, I think that claim is unsupported by the OP. For all we know, there's a mechanism that does it which isn't the same as a being who is all-powerful, all-knowing and has moral values and desires. "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it" ~ Aristotle
Ok. I'm on page 9 and this might have been brought up further on in this thread but I'm getting rather tired of the misuse of terminology.
1) The instantaneous state of any random system or sequence is independent of any previous, current, or future state of itself or any other system or sequence. 2) An unpredictable system or sequence is one who's next state cannot be determined with 100% certainty with current methods or resources. 3) A predictable system or sequence is one who's next state can be determined with 100% certainty. 4) A random system or sequence's next instantaneous state cannot be determined by any method or resource. 5) Random systems or sequences are, by definition, unpredictable. Their next state has 0% certainty in predictability. 6) A system or sequence is near-predictable if its predictability is greater than or equal to 50% and less than 100% certainty. Such a system or sequence is not random. 7) A system or sequence is near-random if its predictability is greater than 0% and less than 50% certainty. Such a system or sequence is not random. 8) No evidence exists for the existence of any random system or sequence in our universe nor does any evidence exist for its opposite. Quit using the damn word 'random' and use "unpredictable" instead. There are still a few idiots out there that tell the difference but please stop feeding their stupidity.
I became an atheist by asking WHY?
For each long held assumption I had I asked WHY. How can asking questions undermine knowledge? |
