Let me add these comments refer to federal law. State law and local law WILL vary. Read them first and do not take legal advice over the internet.

And also add the federal regulation of manufacture for sale is merely a matter of registration. You send your forms and check to the BATF, aka Fed Gov, and if you are not a convicted felon you get your license. You may have to move your manufacturing facility to a place where it does not conflict with state and local law. If you live in New York City or Chicago that can be as much as twenty miles.

A solidoodle 3D printer only costs 500 dollars without a heated building platform and arrives to the user ready to use. It only costs an additional 100 dollars to add the heated building platform. A 2lb spool of ABS costs 43 dollars and comes in different colors!
