So what are the possible implications of that, what was the point in quoting that finding... bananas and humans share the same ancestor?[/quote]

At some point in history, yes.

And "a plant-type thing" is made up of..? Anybody?

You didn't have to mention this. We already got that impression.

Wow. If I were a banana, I'd be disgusted that I share 58% of my genome with you.

Edit to add: Post composed before CD's speedbump.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Well spotted, youngling! I was wondering who'd be the first to notice that...

More correctly, I only just woke up after falling asleep at the computer and replied without refreshing the page. So perhaps I should have written "Post composed before I noticed CD's speedbump."
Tongue

Good eyes, though. Keep me on my toes! Wink

Living cells, yes, would you like to explain in your own words at what point the ancestor of both humans and bananas existed? What type of cells were formed that differentiated the two? Be useful for once instead of displaying disgusting arrogance once more. I'm not ashamed of the fact that I'm not an expert in Biology, I studied Physics, whereas you obviously know everything don't you? Now there's a surprise!

The fact that you're childish is proven by that petty response to what was a statement intended as humour. The fact that you're stupid is proven by the fact you think posting 8 hours after a speed bump means you've posted before it. Are you an idiot or an idiot?

No, I'm a human awaking after a restless night and prone to all the foibles of the human condition. I already made comment addressing it. Thank you for expressing concern for me though, I can definitely feel the warmth of your religion even through my monitor.

Warmth of my religion? Surely you mean the self-righteousness of Atheists? That's what's hitting me at least.

Well, I was addressing the words of your post, so if you're expressing the self-righteousness you percieve in "Atheists" then you're seriously projecting.

CD is quite right. This flaming ends now.

Stimbo, how do you manage to sleep for 8 hours in front of the computer? I may be a youngling, but my back would be killing me after 2 hours! I need a bed to sleep.
