It's an admission of rationality. Sorry, but you guys mumbling in a room together isn't going to suddenly convince me of an irrational and unevidenced proposition. Even if those prayers are "answered" I'd still desire testing and confirmation.
There's nothing close minded about wanting to be sure, but I can see why you theists would want to insult the idea of not believing shit solely on faith.

That's actually the method for alchemical transmutation without having to draw a complicated diagram in Fullmetal Alchemist.
Though ironically, to be able to do so you actually have to have physically met god, been in the same room and talked with it, making all that recourse to faith kind of pointless.

1. Prayer is answered = God wanted it to happen. Prayer is not answered = God didn't want it to happen.
Prayer isn't a test to see if God is real. Testing is illogical. Unless you know better.
So where's the dishonesty?
2. So it's rational to state that you know the future and can predict that you will never change your mind? You don't have a closed mind. You're psychic! Nice one!
