The cops don't make enough money to afford to live in Frisco.  They hate everyone who lives there.  So when they get an opportunity to whack someone upside his head who does live there in whatever status they take it.

Virginia ex-cop charged with murder for killing compliant man standing in doorway of his home

Witnesses have alleged that Torres shot Geer as he stood inside his doorway with his hands raised talking with officers.
Police have said Geer had been reported to have firearms in his home and had threatened to use a weapon against officers. A loaded holstered handgun was found near Geer’s body.
Police said this month that Torres had been fired. Geer’s family settled a wrongful death suit against the county in April for $2.95 million.

It's time to play "One of these things is not like the other."  I was reading a story about an 18-day manhunt for a suspected murderer in California that ended in police killing the suspect, and even though I couldn't put my finger on it, something didn't sit right with me.  After re-reading the article, I found what it was...

Benjamin Peter Ashley, 34, was struck by several rounds after he failed to comply with orders to drop the weapon as he walked toward foothills east of Bakersfield on Saturday, Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood told The Associated Press.

That's right.  With instances of trigger-happy cops killing people for having their hands in their pockets, they didn't immediately fire on a supsected murder that pulled out a handgun in a confrontation.  Can anyone guess what the difference was between this suspect and all of the other people shot for simply reaching in their pockets?
