A very interesting talk by Dr Peter Boghossian on how to deconvert religious people:

The gist is to attack faith not religion i.e. target their epistemology (basis for knowledge) not the content of their beliefs. Also, assess where people are along the scale of readiness to change, and nudge them one step along the scale, don't try to radically change them.
