My brother-in-law is a doctor and he has made many of the same observations. What is done to the elderly in hospitals borders on criminal. They are a cash cow for Medicare practitioners some of whom, apparently, want no part of what they inflict on others.
Yeah, I don't see the point of bankrupting my family to prolong my life for a little while longer and suffer the side effects of chemo. Just hook me up with some decent meds and plenty of beer.

The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason. |
