I kind of start to like this Putin guy. His speech about minorities was quite inspiring, and the fact that he also puts value on traditional moral values in contrast to, "western liberalism", which I also stress when speaking about the recent moral decay in my country is a problem in many nations that refuse to be dominated by western cultural imperialism.

I'm not going to argue the normality of homosexuality(although, it looks as though it's hardly considered to be normal in Russia), the fact is, that traditional social values of Russia are now protected by law, values that have been cast underfoot during the communist regime.

I suppose it is all a matter of perspective. If other people's values are demonized and they are persecuted for them while your own are held up as exemplary, that is desirable for people of a certain persuasion. How best to characterize those people? Egotistical bullies? Closet homosexuals? Intolerant? I don't know. Too many good choices.
