Not for my hair and not for my skin. I'll use soap and deoderant on special occasion if I really want to smell nice but that's it. Hot water is all it takes.

Shampoo doesn't hold a candle to fine fragrances when it comes to charging up the wazoo for a product that is peddled with misleading advertising. By the way, if you want to try or even if you have tried going without shampoo and aren't/weren't happy with the results at first, that's not because going natural just looks bad; It's because your scalp has become accustomed to having itself stripped of natural oils and so it overcompensates. When you first start going without shampoo, make sure to really run your fingers through your hair under the water so it won't look greasy afterwards. After a while, your scalp will get accustomed to how it should be and your hair will look fine; better than it ever did before.

As a diesel mechanic I can attest to the effectiveness of both soap and shampoo.

Water alone does not work.
