We've all been there at some point. Hell, I used to be a 9/11 truther. Imagine how I feel.

These days I rely on the media to report events, and then I go and look all over for the details. I never trust one source. I find that reddit's /r/news section usually has a lot of similar people posting updates and corrections to reports in the comments.

And neither Purple Drank or marijuana are dangerous drugs that cause someone to be more violent or hostile. They're both more "chill out" drugs. Just for getting high, no more or less. What's wrong with that?

I fight too. Not MMA, but I'm considering it. What does that have to do with anything? I guess that Trayvon knew what he was doing when he started beating on Zimmerman? Maybe an explanation as to why Zimmerman apparently couldn't defend himself from a kid without shooting him? Zimmerman should have left Trayvon the fuck alone and let the police handle the situation. By following Trayvon he was choosing to create a situation which resulted in his getting beat up. I kinda feel like if you fuck with someone who knows MMA, you should receive a beat down. If Trayvon knew MMA he could have easily killed Zimmerman easily and quickly. Instead he just broke his nose. Don't delude yourself into thinking Zimmerman was fighting for his life. I'll concede that Zimmerman might have thought he was, though.

I think the main reason that was pointed out is that the media were painting Treyvon as some innocent kid who could never hurt a fly. In reality, he was an active drug user, had received three suspensions from school that year, and was found with a quantity of women's jewelry in his bag, along with a screwdriver that the school police investigator thought was a burglary tool.

Martin was also taller than Zimmerman by several inches, and had a healthy weight for his age / height. Zimmerman on the other hand was overweight and out of shape.

Whether riots are seemly for a justifiable cause or not, they are typically not entirely spontaneous, but prepared for and organized by those with some political agenda.

It is not politically expedient for the black community to be seen to be lawless when a black president in the White House, and it is particularly not expedient for the black community to be seen as arguably picking a fight against the hispanic community right now when most black probably identify republicans as the most entrenched long term threat to their future welfare.

That feels when you realize you got duped by the media...the same thing everyone's been saying for years is biased, sensationalist bullshit, and you yourself have stated is exactly that.

I wouldn't feel bad, If I were you - you should be commended for examining the evidence and having the good sense (courage) to change your opinion on the matter.
