I loved the photo of Zimmerman all cleaned up with the caption "Not 1 drop of blood" though. You've convinced me; that is clearly some unbiased and balanced journalism there. </sarcasm>
Did you also love his blatant lies? I didn't post the video with any claims that I believed the whole thing to be irrefutable. It did, however, include some whopping lies told by Zimmerman.
Which you ignored.
Ho hum.

I've not read the entire post so I may be repeating someone else. This matter was settled in a court of law and the man was found not guilty, it's over as far as the laws concerned and the constitution supports this. I do not believe the verdict was correct because, I do not believe the charge was correct, but none of this matters either, the law by which we live prevailed and this is what we must live with, if we want to survive as a nation. I've seen some here who put down the Biblical law of an eye for an eye, but now that it suits them it's okay, double standards do not benefit a nation. IMO if the state had brought the proper charge we would have seen a different out come, but as I said none of it matters now the justice system has spoken. It's good to debate an issue like this but getting angry with each other accomplishes nothing other than greater division, don't you think that's going in the wrong direction.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

It's not the law of my country. Even if it was, there's nothing wrong with disputing what happens in a court case.
Here, the Neighbourhood Watch are usually nothing more than curtain-twitchers. You'll sometimes get self-organised groups who walk the streets at night, but the purpose of that is to have a presence on the street in order to deter burglars from going about their thing undetected.
If any of them see anything worth reporting, that's what they do. They don't get involved. It's called Neighbourhood Watch for a reason, rather than Neighbourhood Vigilantes.
And they don't walk the streets with guns.

Nothing wrong with a debate that's what I said, however since this is not your country why criticize our laws, I'm sure your country has problems for you to attend to.

So I should shut up about the anti-Gay laws in Russia, too? Or the restrictions in countries like Zimbabwe, North Korea... or Egypt? Yeah. Silly of me to have any input about things like that. (deep sigh)

Oh Jesus Fuck. Sorry. I'll step back and give you room to hail Saint Zimmerman - oh blessed being that he is, with his eternal truthfulness.
Meanwhile, you happily call Trayvon's girlfriend a liar.
Hypocritical much?

One time I was in a car wreck. I was a passenger and my buddy was driving. We had to come to a screeching halt and stopped less than two feet behind the vehicle in front of us. A truck towing a trailer slammed into us. Totalled the truck we were in. My buddy asked me to say I was driving because he didn't have a valid driver license.
So I did it. Now I knew that we had come to a complete stop before we were rear ended and slammed into the car ahead of us. But I was a little banged up. Just bruises but my head and gut was aching. When the cop asked me how fast we were going when we were hit I just blurted out we were going like 30 mph or something.
My buddy looked at me strange. But my head was killing me and I didn't give a fuck. Luckily the cop was experienced and realized I was confused. We weren't cited for being at fault in the accident.
Later I looked back and wondered why I said we were going around 30 mph when we were hit when I knew for a fact we were at a dead stop.
People get flustered and say incorrect things. Even when, during more reflective times, you know that wasn't the truth.
Everything I needed to know about life I learned on Dagobah.

Telling an anecdote about blatantly lying, which you did willfully, and not just when you lied about the speed you were going, but also when you agreed to pretend you were the driver, isn't helpful to your argument.

You know...everyone arguing in favor of Trayvon is really coming up short. Are you guys aware of what cognitive dissonance is? It's when, in the face of evidence mounting against you, you continue to stick to your original stance without accepting the new information. This is also called dogma and it's something I think most people here rail against the most when it comes to modern religion.
Yet there's so very many people to are showing it.
Shame.
I mean, seriously, Celt. "You called her a liar!" Yeah. She WAS a liar. She lied under oath.
Here's a suggestion to everyone; try actually learning about the trial and doing so without your preconceptions. Do it with an open mind that Trayvon might have or might have not deserved what happened to him. Do it with an open mind that Zimmerman may or may not have been innocent. Do so with a completely blank mind, read through the evidence and what happened, reading through the transcripts, compare them with the location of the incident, do all of this stuff, and quit being so fucking DOGMATIC. You guys are starting to sound a little too damn close to what religious fundamentalists sound like and the sheer amount of ignorance being displayed? It's starting to actually kinda piss me off because it's coming from individuals I otherwise considered to be open-minded and reasonable and now suddenly you guys are starting to shit all over that.

And what, please tell, would you have rather seen Zimmerman tried for? I keep hearing people make vague allusions to "different charges," and yet nobody ever really suggests one.

Strawman fallacy. Nobody here is stating that Zimmerman is "eternally [truthful]." And then you went on to state that calling a liar a liar is hypocritical.
Oh jesus fuck. Sorry. I'll step back and give you room to keep dancing around in an emotionally-charged fit of non-logic. ._.
