I'd rather my child get addicted to porn than to crack cocaine. ...wait...did that come out right?

I need my porn!

I'll just opt-in. It's a bit of a shitty thing, but not the end of the world.

Most porn will not harm kids. Blocking kids from seeing porn, like sex is something dirty and disgusting on the other hand....

There's porn on the internet? Who knew?
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

What pisses me off is I'm almost certain pages that aren't porn but have nudity will get blocked. That bothers me far more than anything else.

Also I just see them blocking more and more over time. If this goes through I'll just use a proxy all the time. It can be slow or a pain but its better than seeing the message from your ISP.

The damage of having such stupid asshole parents that all computers have to be blocked of anything naughty, because they are too lazy is bound to do more damage to the kid than anything else.

No, but it is a violation of privacy. ISPs will have a nice big list of everyone who watches porn, which they will have to keep indefinitely.

I'm just going to download as much violent porn as I can before they get started really trying to clamp down.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

I really don't understand this. I've always thought European countries and Australia were much more progressive than the US but all I hear is how they want to restrict/ban porn.

The US is populated by fundies but to my knowledge no porn ban has come close to being enacted here. O_o
