My Media Player

RE: My Media Player
What an extraordinarily odd thing to say. And why are you sorry? And it wasn't a waste of time as I have really enjoyed creating it, and I plan to continue updating and improving it as a freeware title.

I must have watched 100's of films and t.v. series over the past 18 months on my own and with the sprogs and all using a media player I created myself. I'm pretty chuffed about that.

So, to summerise...

I mean it. Most media players these days focus on the "standard" features and implement them in the same way. You not only implemented a load of useful features better than some of the big players, but you created your own innovative ones which simply don't exist anywhere else, and are bloody useful.

Plus, you have Hayter Audio Sync which is of course a winner for me. :-P

I've run into problems before where one player application could not play a particular file (sometimes not at all, sometimes with errors or artifacts), but another one could - on the same system (so the codecs are the same). Probably better than 99% of the time, there's no difference. I make sure to keep MPC and VLC installed for that very reason.

Anyways, Dar - your player is a good one, and has features not found elsewhere. Unfortunately, there are so many good free (and paid) media players that there's not much demand for more.

This. I recommend a not-too-intrusive nag box asking people to donate.

I'm always looking for a better media player (though I've been very satisfied with MusicBee over the last year). I will certainly give it a shot and give my feedback.
