I searched for the article on Danny but the archives only go back to 1997 on the net., so I couldn't find the article on Danny. However I did find the article on his father's death in 2006. Just thought you might like to know. Will talk to some of my family and friends to see if they might remember Danny, I do not remember the incident myself, but hey 30 years and many drugs and alcohol can do that, unfortunately.

Thanks, Living out of state, I can't go to the library there to research old copies of the Daily Times, but I had the idea of contacting several people his age that went to Maryville High school. I'm hoping one of them remembers and perhaps has something to corroborate the story. It was quite the tragedy.

No one likes to feel judged. You might be judging your still Christian friends, too. Only you know your own heart. Maybe they think that you are now judging them because they haven't questioned their beliefs or cling to irrational ideas etc. Yes, many Christians say allot of stupid things, mostly because they are human and even the best humans say stupid things.

Isn't that a rather strange thing for God to say? That reads like there are other gods but you (the reader?) Are not allowed to worship them. Makes a bit of a mockery of the whole monotheistic thing doesn't it?

Shouldn't this have read something akin to "there is only one good and it's me?"

On the contrary this says there are others..... Weird!
The word 'gods' is a generic term that describes any object, image or being held up to be worshiped as God. Remember God is not the only celestial being, angels and demons fall into this category as well, there for This word also describes them in the Hebrew text as well.
