Creed's Ramble Thread

RE: Creed's Ramble Thread
Hello again fellow Creed.

I read your entire "ramble" as you called it.

It was entertaining and informative, I know you a bit better now.

You sound like a cool guy, I'd like to smoke some sheesha with sometime.
“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.” - Marcus Aurelius

I don't know you, Creed, but I did read this whole thread, and if it's OK for a strange newbie to do this, I'll offer my 2 cents.

I have a LOT of bipolar in my family, and you are absolutely right to focus on getting that under control. You can if you keep working at it. You are WAY ahead of many people in that you aren't in denial over it (I know someone in her 40s who still won't accept it and deal with it). It will fuck with you forever, but you can put a muzzle on it if you keep alert- and it sounds like you are.

I don't know what happened with your education- you said your HS transcripts got lost? Get a GED. From reading your posts, I don't think this would be difficult for you. I volunteer teach adult literacy at a place where people can do a lot of the GED work for free, and there may be something like that near you. Then you can take the college classes that will give you some direction. You said you liked science- so start studying it. I know all this costs money, but I have seen many adult students who started reading at a 3rd grade level (and who are really freaking poor because of that) find the time and money to get going- you just have to locate the right help.

And you are right that "this, too, shall pass." Keep trying.

If you like writing and cooking, you should start a cooking blog. You can start it for free on wordpress.com. If you don't have a digital camera, you can get one that's good enough for $40 on ebay (need photos of all the steps of course). If you stick with it and put up 2-3 posts per week, you might pick up enough readers to transfer it to self-hosting and make some bucks off affiliate programs, advertising - even write your own e-cookbook.
