What's everyone up to right now?

About to go to bed. I am working on a lab for BGP. This is the routing protocol for the internet.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Watching my Seahawks beat the piss out of Arizona.
#1 seed, first round bye, and home field advantage here we come. Looks like the NFC road to the Super Bowl might run through Seattle again this year. What the Seahawks are doing to the Cardinals right now is vaguely reminiscent...
Sleep waking...woke sleeping? I don't know

Not that it means they wanted to get stomped, but they were probably more concerned with avoiding key injuries. The Cardinals had a lot of incentive to play well, even with all the injuries they have had. To get pummeled the way they did was... breathtaking. I almost never stay up late anymore, but sure am glad I did for this game. What am I up to right now? Getting ready for a short work week, and just ~two weeks before another trip to Ohio. This one is where I'll move most of the stuff that I'll be keeping when I make the move in July. Just seven months to go...
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

I'm contemplating the obvious and the not-so-obvious implications of having three colonoscopies in a single year's time.

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite. Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment. Quote:Some people deserve hell. I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong. ![]() |
