Though my stepmother and dad are in the dark as to my exact beliefs, it's slightly irritating because they have full knowledge that I don't attend church. I tire of the religious gifts.

May I suggest an appropriate gift, such as Black Sabbath's recent recording "13", featuring the single "God is Dead"?

For fucks sake, I made it to the doc's office at 8:30 this morning, took forever to get my Rx filled. It's after 2:00 and I'm still not home. Flu season? Yeah, let's not stock Tamiflu.

I think I only had the flu once, the winter following receiving my only flu shot because it was required for college. I have not had a flu shot since and I have had no flu since.

I was just notified that an officer on a vessel I'll serve as a cargo agent has died in his sleep. The vessel will cross into the Mississippi River on the 25th, and I will board it at anchorage to conduct the usual business and to observe as USCG and CDC conduct their investigation into the death and for the removal of the body. I've never had a crewman die on a vessel I worked before, so it came as a bit of a surprise to me that the body is now considered "cargo" by Customs and Border Protection and must be filed as such in the automated manifest system, as though he were a shipment of soybeans or steel. Weird.

Oddly enough, I had a flu shot on Friday, but it takes 2-4 weeks for it to work.

Damn flu just about killed me in 2013 though, or rather complications as a result. Not taking any chances any more.

Yes, much running around today, got Gibson off on his way to Honolulu, his girlfriend is actually from Australia, where I hear some of you fine folks are from. Crap, the name eludes me now... Surfer's Paradise? Anyway, he visited her last summer down there. It's his first trip to the islands, I am happy for him, but a little jealous at the same time.
Then it was off to urgent care for Dreaming and I. Verdict me: Viral Bronchitis -
him: the flu. I am already bouncing back today.
