Got the news last night.. didn't really sink in. In my son's 24 years he has tragically lost 2 very good friends. He lost another on Sunday. Gibson and I mourn Dasan today. I met him only once, but he was part of a group of my son's closest friends. Looking at his FB page, I see he really had a lust for life, had already lived a lifetime more than I have in twice his years. He had a lot to offer. But, as my son says, "My consolation is that he died doing what he loved". Dasan, you were inspiring and you will be missed.

As Jim Rohn once said, don't ask for security-- ask for adventure. Sorry to hear about Dasan's passing.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Just got finished watching Lost Songs: The Basement Tapes Continued with Jim James (from Modest Mouse), Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons), Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddons (Carolina Chocolate Drops), and Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes). These 5 awesome musicians took 40 unrecorded songs found in a shoebox from a closet in the house where Bob Dylan recorded The Basement Tapes. They wrote the music and recorded it.
Fan. Fucking. Tastic.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Is this on Netflix? Where did you see it? A big fan of music docs, and my son is a big fan of Marcus Mumford, as am I.

Showtime Showcase. If you have a Showtime subscription, you can watch it On Demand. HIGHLY recommended. I seriously just bought the album.
